Fine works of art deserved to be framed so that they may be admired. Framing not only enhances the look of a painting but it protects it from damage by offering a controlled environment.
Professional mattes and framing can make even an inexpensive print a focal point that enriches your living space.
Ask about the quality of materials
We use high quality wood molding imported from all over the world.
Why is this important? Solid wood frames are that are kiln dried will last longer and be stronger than frames made of press board materials.
Mattes accent the colors in a painting and give depth to the picture. We have a wide variety of mattes including some that are 1/8" thick. We use only 100% cotton rag or other all natural material mattes
that are acid free in our shop.
Why is this Important? These mattes are fade and bleed resistant and will not harm your painting.
We secure the print/painting to the foam core using Acid-free Artist tape. We never glue it unless it is requested. It's not a good idea to spay mount a painting to foam core so please don't do it. Also don't use cellophane tape or masking tape. Acid-free Artist tape or Linen tape is the only type that will not harm your painting.
We offer a variety of glass.
Our standard glass is not UV coated but is acceptable as long as the painting will never be in direct sunlight.
If the painting will be in direct sunlight, even for just a few hours a day it can begin to fade over time. We would recommend using our UV treated glass for such framing.
The most expensive glass we carry is called Museum Glass, it's pretty amazing. As well as being UV coated, it's virtually invisible. There is absolutely no glare from any angle or light source.
